Chris' Story

I was raised in a loving home and both of my parents were successful professionals. Drinking was always part of our social functions and family gatherings, it was a way of life. I was 31 years old when things suddenly spiraled out of control.

I was working as a lawyer at a well-known law firm and engaged to a beautiful girl. I begin drinking more and more just to cope with the stresses of work. Before I could realize what was happening, I woke up in the back of a police car. A late night out turned bad. I lost my job, my girlfriend left me and the drinking got even worse.

My brother had heard about Freedom From Addiction and he called on my behalf. He asked me to call after speaking with them but I wasn't ready yet. I got a second DUI and gave in, I was put in touch with the admissions counselor from one of their Treatment Center Partners and admitted the following day.

Looking back, I wish I would have called sooner. They got me the help I needed to get sober and manage the pressures of day-to-day life. I don't need to reach for that drink anymore, I have a new lease on life. It feels amazing! I’m practicing law again and helping others who fell off the track like I did. I owe it all to that simple phone call to Freedom From Addiction.
